As the beginning of the football season draws near, J.J. Watt has a wide range of possibilities for his next professional move.

According to Marchand, CBS is the frontrunner to perhaps acquire Watt in a post that would first be part-time, although NBC and the NFL Network have also indicated interest. Watt would join CBS’s existing team of commentators rather than taking the position of another, which allows him to have what Marchand described as an “elastic deadline.”

Watt’s desire to enter the TV industry, especially so soon after retirement, is still unknown.

The 34-year-old would not be working full-time since she does not desire the significant time commitment that would be required. Furthermore, he wouldn’t be taking anyone’s place on the rival networks.

He is only expected to make a few appearances throughout the upcoming season and participate on the Super Bowl pre-game program.

Watt said on Twitter regarding his probable future after quitting in January that, despite his past beliefs, he would now give going into TV some attention.

“Early in my career I said I would never do it, but I love the game too much to not be around it in some capacity,” Watt said.

In the 2011 NFL Draft, the Texans selected him out of the University of Wisconsin with the 11th overall pick. He has 531 tackles, 172 tackles for loss, and 101 sacks in his ten seasons with the Texans.

It was mutually decided that Watt would leave the Texans in February 2021. The Arizona Cardinals eventually signed him the month after. In his debut season with Arizona, he only recorded 16 tackles and a sack while starting seven games.

Watt played with the Cardinals in a total of 23 games before retiring this summer. With 114.5 sacks, 586 tackles, and 195 tackles for loss, Watt completed his career.

the history Watt’s legacy on the field of play is unparalleled. He had more of an effect off the field, though.

With his charity endeavors, Watt made a significant contribution to the city of Houston. The 2017 Walter Payton Man of the Year strengthened his bond with Houston throughout the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey by acting as a constant source of encouragement. More than $41 million was raised by Watt to aid the affected.

Now that Watt’s NFL dream is ended, he may pursue another football-related job, depending on what he decides to do after that.
