Reports: Vic Fangio Hired By Eagles To Prepare Them At Its Best For Super Bowl 57

Vic Fangio may be a coach-for-hire, but he still represents the Denver Broncos’ best interests. Fangio has reportedly been in Arizona assisting the Philadelphia Eagles in their Super Bowl game planning against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to a recent report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Reports: Vic Fangio Hired By Eagles To Prepare Them At Its Best For Super Bowl 57

Fangio led the Broncos to a 19-30 record in his three seasons as head coach, but their defences consistently baffled Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. It just never produced victory. The Chiefs would fall short of their average and would have to win by pinching pennies.

As a coach, Fangio has never captured a Super Bowl. However, Fangio would receive his first Super Bowl ring as a member of the Philly coaching staff if the Eagles upset the Chiefs.

Vic Fangio, who was appointed the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator last month, has reportedly been assisting Philadelphia in getting ready for their matchup with the Chiefs. Following the Eagles’ victory against the 49ers in the NFC Championship, Adam Schefter of ESPN claimed that Fangio signed a two-week deal with the team.

The 64-year-old has spent the previous two weeks in Arizona helping the Eagles prepare for Sunday’s game instead of going to Miami. Specifically, he helped the offensive staff with their self-scouting process, rather than on defence, and gave insight on the Chiefs defence.

From 2019 to 2021, Fangio served as the head coach of the Broncos, who twice a year played host to the Chiefs, a division foe.

After being sacked by Denver, there were rumours that Fangio might serve as a consultant with the Eagles, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. However, the veteran coach decided to skip the season.

But Rapoport claims that after the regular season, coaches on the Eagles who are close to Fangio contacted him to see if he would be interested in joining them for their postseason run.

According to NFL Network, Fangio will formally sign his three-year contract with Miami after the Super Bowl, making him the league’s highest-paid coordinator.
