REPORTS: Los Angeles Lakers Have Found Their New Point Guard to Sign as Russell Westbrook Continues to Disappoint

When Westbrook left the game, the Los Angeles Lakers were winning over the Portland Trail Blazers. When he came back, they lost the advantage. During Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Russell Westbrook missed a jump jumper, which infuriated LeBron James and Anthony Davis. With about a minute left in the fourth quarter, the Lakers led by one point.

Russell Westbrook picked up the ball and moved to his position on the court. With 17 seconds remaining on the shot clock, he threw up a poor shot. The Trail Blazers recovered control of the ball after it rebounded off the backboard. In exasperation, James and Davis raised their hands in the air.

Lakers looking for options to trade Russell Westbrook and land Hornets’ PG

It’s becoming very obvious that the Los Angeles Lakers need some additional aid this season after a 0-3 start to the campaign and a dismal form of Russell Westbrook. According to the most recent report, the team concurs with the evaluation. The Lakers are considering signing Charlotte Hornets point guard Terry Rozier, claims Shams Charania of The Athletic. Since the summer, there have been rumors of a multi-team deal involving the Lakers and Terry Rozier.

The Athletic report read: “Charlotte’s Terry Rozier emerged as a trade target for the Lakers in the offseason and their interest in him remains high, multiple sources tell The Athletic. The Lakers and Hornets held discussions about a possible three- or four-team trade during the summer, and hold him in high regard among their possible trade possibilities, but the dynamic Hornets guard’s availability will be entirely predicated on the franchise’s direction for the future and its play as the season goes on.”

Terry Rozier

The Lakers wouldn’t automatically become contenders or even a playoff team with the addition of Rozier or Richardson, and it’s questionable how far they can advance with Turner and Hield. This is considering they trade Russel Westbrook. The Boston Celtics selected Terry Rozier as the 16th overall choice in the 2015 NBA Draft.

In his first two seasons, he played more than 100 games, but it took him until his third season before he made his first start for Boston. Rozier played 272 games over the course of four seasons with the Celtics, starting 30 of them. During that time, he averaged 7.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

But everything changed when the Celtics sent Rozier to the Hornets. He immediately started for them and has since established himself as one of the best guards in the league. However, it all depends on how the Lakers are planning on trading Russell Westbrook.
