What will the Arizona Cardinals do with DeAndre Hopkins during this hectic summer, with all the other issues that need to be resolved? With Jackson’s Ultimatum?

Reports: Lamar Jackson Wants DeAndre Hopkins In Ravens, Gives Them An Ultimatum

Hopkins has been on the trade market for months, but the Cardinals have been unable to move him despite interest from many clubs.

Some people think they’re asking for too much, while others think Hopkins’ age and contract don’t do the team any favours.

Whatever the case, Arizona still has one of the league’s finest receivers, and it looks he could be partnering with one of the league’s top quarterbacks.

Jackson had requested that the Ravens also sign DeAndre Hopkins, since the quarterback had been crucial in luring Beckham to the team, according to source Michael Lombardi. Jackson, according to Lombardi, allegedly urged the organisation to roster both wideouts in order to assist them negotiate a favourable contract.

Jackson was advised by Baltimore that they could only afford to bring in one receiver, and Beckham was ultimately selected. Jackson reportedly told Beckham that he will continue to catch passes from the former MVP throughout the upcoming season.

“I was told reliably by somebody who’s involved that Lamar told them in a conversation, ‘get Hopkins and get Beckham, and then we can talk.’ The club went back to them and said look, we can’t get Hopkins and Beckham. We just can’t afford both, but we’ll get one of them – and they got Beckham,” Lombardi said on his podcast, The Lombardi Line.

“DeAndre Hopkins is an interesting story, right? Hopkins is available, but the problem with DeAndre Hopkins is he would be great with Lamar Jackson – not because he’s got great speed, but he’s got exactly what Lamar needs. Somebody who you throw the ball anywhere in his area, he’s going to catch it. He’s covered. He’s always covered. But he always catches it. But he wants a raise, he wants more money. And so what I think the Ravens decided was, ‘Okay, we can get Beckham.’ And I think that’s why you see the overpayment for Beckham.”

Beckham just signed a one-year contract for up to $18 million with the Ravens, with $15 million of that amount guaranteed.

Hopkins’ contract has basic salary of $19.45 million and $14.91 million in the remaining two years; Hopkins is allegedly open to restructuring it.
