The soul of the Philadelphia Eagles is Jalen Hurts. Hurts only started four games in his debut season with the squad, but his performances in those games demonstrated that he would one day be a formidable opponent. Hurts is one of the NFL’s top quarterback stars now that that time has come. Watching his enormous ascent to the top is utterly exhilarating.
Reports: Jalen Hurts Is NFL’s Most Exciting Player, Supersedes Super Bowl Winner Mahomes
According to SmartRatings, Jalen Hurts will be the NFL’s most thrilling player in 2022, beating out Patrick Mahomes. Given that they were both finalist for the NFL MVP award and both played admirably in Super Bowl 57 in Arizona (Mahomes earned the award after the Kansas City Chiefs won the championship, of course), it may not come as much of a surprise. Hurts topped all quarterbacks in 2022 during his breakout season for the Philadelphia Eagles with 67 rushes for first downs and 13 running touchdowns.

QB | AGE | SEASON | HEIGHT | WEIGHT | COLLEGE | DRAFTED |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jalen Hurts | 24 | 3rd | 6-1 | 223 | Oklahoma | 2020 (2.53) |
Patrick Mahomes | 27 | 6th | 6-2 | 225 | Texas Tech | 2017 (1.10) |
Hurts is a physical force on the field who also possesses the leadership and mentoring skills to excel off the court. The Eagles went 14-3 and earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC last year with Hurts leading the way as their starting quarterback.

Since taking over as the starter in 2018, when he helped the Chiefs to a 12-4 record while leading the league with 50 touchdown passes, Mahomes has been a transcendent talent at the position. The quarterback did guide Kansas City to a Super Bowl victory this year.

For Hurts, the journey to the Super Bowl hasn’t been as spectacularly successful. He began the year as Carson Wentz’s backup and finished the year with an 8-7 record, 16 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. In his 15 starts this season, he helped the squad to a 14-1 record with 3,700 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and 760 rushing yards. This was his breakout season.

Discuss earning a raise. Hurts received a $610,000 yearly salary in the year 2020. It increased to $833,000 in 2021. It was $1 million in 2022. Currently, it will cost $4.2 million in 2023 and $50 million in 2024. According to CelebrityNetWorth.com, that is.
