Reports: Grizzlies’ Ja Morant Accused Of Threatening A Shoe Salesman

Star player for the Memphis Grizzlies Ja Morant has been electrifying on the floor since making a full recovery from the horrific gun mishap that cost him eight games. Since then, as he gears up for a lengthy playoff run with his teammates, he has avoided any off-court disputes or problems that may further damage his reputation.

Reports: Grizzlies’ Ja Morant Accused For Threatening A Shoe Salesman

Ja Morant also got into a fight with Busby, a shoe salesperson, according to a report by Gus Garcia-Roberts for “The Washington Post,” in which he threatened the worker after getting into a fight with his mother. In a phone conversation with Gus Garcia-Roberts, Busby discussed his feelings at the time as he reflected on the occurrence.

“I thought, ‘Oh, he’s really trying to get me,” Busby said. “Like, he’s trying to hurt me.”

The shoe salesperson, Busby, recalled how Morant’s mother started following him around after accusing him of prioritising two white people above her when her favoured shoe was no longer in stock. When Jamie Morant, Ja’s mother, threatened the salesperson by saying she would contact her son, the store’s managers sent Busby into the store’s rear for his protection.

As Ja Morant arrived on the scene and began requesting Busby, things got so bad that Morant even stayed in the store until Busby’s shift was done. Ja eventually left the store, and Busby then reported the incident to the Memphis Police Precinc.

Ja Morant, on the other hand, was not classified as a suspect, and his mother was categorised as “unknown.” Busby thought that because of Morant’s status as a basketball legend playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, he was not being heard by the police and forfeited the rest of the day’s $9.25 per hour compensation. Even worse, Busby was saving money for his next college term.

Ja Morant has been linked to a number of off-court allegations throughout the regular season, including the IG live gun incident, directing lasers at Indiana Pacers travelling supporters, and now a new unsettling altercation with a shoe salesman, according to Gus Garcia-Roberts of “The Washington Post.”

Ja’s troublesome recent past in the public is not something to be taken lightly even after being suspended by the league, depending on how the team conducts itself on the court in the face of all the outside commotion around them.
