Reports: Cardinals Are Unhappy With DeAndre Hopkins For Missing Final Two Games When In Good Health

Some fans could not comprehend why the Cardinals would do that, as they freely give top receiver DeAndre Hopkins to any other club. Therefore, even if the cause for ending the contract is just now becoming apparent, having a reason is still useful.

Reports: Cardinals Are Unhappy With DeAndre Hopkins For Missing Final Two Games When In Good Health

Hopkins “upset some in the Cardinals organization by sitting out the final two games of the 2022 season even though he was healthy,” according to Kyle Odegard, a former employee of the team, and it might have been “a sticky situation” if he stayed with the team until the trade deadline.

The 30-year-old Hopkins was officially reported out in Week 17 with a knee injury, but according to Odegard, their star playmaker wasn’t hurt after all.

It was claimed by Odegard that it may have been a “sticky situation” for him to stay in Arizona before he was released by the team last week as a cost-cutting measure.

Hopkins’ skills are being sought after by other organizations, including the Jets and Giants.

The club had no problem continuing Hopkins’ falsehood if he could have really participated in the last two contests. Prior to the last game of the regular season, former coach Kliff Kingsbury claimed Hopkins could have been able to play if the game had been important, that the knee ailment was “something that’s been nagging him,” and that “we’re just going to be cautious.”

Over the last two seasons, the former Cardinal participated in 19 games while accumulating 1,289 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns.

Due to a positive PED test for Ostarine, a SARM (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator) that the NFL had not authorized, Hopkins was suspended for the first six games of the regular season in 2022.
