Reports: Attempts To Save Ray Lewis’s Son Were Made But Those Were Ineffective

According to TMZ, Florida police said that they were contacted about a medical issue on June 14 at 5:29 p.m. They found Ray nude and unconscious when he responded. Before authorities delivered NARCAN, which treats narcotic overdoses, to no avail, he was receiving CPR from one buddy.

According to the police report, officers also discovered a used needle, a tiny plastic bag, and a blue tablet that was informally identified as Alprazolam inside an empty beer can.

Officers responded to 9-1-1 calls at a Florida residence earlier this month.

The Orlando Sentinel stated that Ray Lewis’ son, a former Miami Hurricanes hero and NFL Hall of Famer, received Narcan after being discovered unconscious in Casselberry earlier this week.

“On Wednesday, officers responded to a medical emergency call at 5:34 p.m. at a home on South Sunset Drive where a man, later identified as 28-year-old Ray Anthony Lewis III, was found unresponsive by his friends, Casselberry Police Captain Michael Schaefer said in a statement.”

Those on the scene apparently called for the administration of NARCAN, but it was ineffective.

“One of our officers used his issued NARCAN on Lewis, but there was no change to his condition,” the statement read.

Lewis III became a football star at Lake Mary High School in Florida, with 1,898 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. He started his collegiate football career at Miami in the same manner as his father before moving to Coastal Carolina and then Virginia Union, an HBCU that plays in the Division II level. Lewis III most recently competed in 2021 for the Wyoming Mustangs of the Champions Indoor Football league. He was also pursuing a career in music.
