Red Bull’s Checo Perez Speaks On The ‘Beef’ That’s Supposedly Going On With His Teammate Max Verstappen
It’s no secret that there is a lot of friction among the Red Bull team. Since the notorious Brazilian GP last year, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have been involved in fights. More recently, in Saudi Arabia, the champion sneakily intervened to steal the extra point away from Perez, but he was only able to keep his one-point advantage on the scoreboard.

The storyline is undoubtedly similar to that of Rosberg and Hamilton, with two comrades competing for the title in a competitive vehicle. The rivalry between Perez and Verstappen has been jokingly called the “Red Beef” by fans while the Mercedes guys engaged in the “Silver War.” In the midst of all the rumours surrounding his Red Bull coworkers, Sergio Perez spoke forward to reveal the truth about his friendship with Max Verstappen.

As quoted by SkySports F1, Checo dismisses any idea of a toxic rivalry between the two garages. Further, he insists things are absolutely fine between him and his teammate. “To be honest we have a lot more respect for each other than people out there might think. There’s a great atmosphere in the team, there’s a very high level of respect between each other.”

Perez also stated that despite all that had transpired in the past, they both had strong moral principles. But there is only one thing that may upset the balance. “I don’t expect that to change as long as we’re both mature enough to know what’s right and what’s wrong.”

Verstappen and Perez’s outstanding results, which have propelled them to the top of the championship standings after only three races, suggest that Red Bull’s RB19 vehicle appears to have a distinct advantage at the start of this season.

On top of the board, it is the No. 1 automobile, and for good cause. Perez is therefore aware of the difficulty he faces. Perez is all too familiar with the risky pairing of Verstappen and a Red Bull. It will require the most of me to give it my all every weekend.
