Ranger Catcher Jonah Heim Trolls Umpire Over The Most Controversial Call
In the eighth inning of Tuesday’s defeat to the Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim was the subject of a contentious ruling for catcher interference.
Heim made the decision to have some fun following his three-run home run in the fifth inning of Wednesday’s 6-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Make a point as well.

Heim looked to the bullpen as he rounded the bases at first base, making the usual challenge gesture with his hands cupped around his ears as if putting on headphones.

Many people were enraged and outraged when the catcher was penalized for obstructing home plate on the run that ultimately decided the game. Therefore, he reminded them of the last time they looked over one of his plays when he hit a home run that nobody could take away from him.
This is in reference to a highly contentious play from a Rangers defeat on Tuesday night, where it was found upon review that Heim had improperly obstructed the plate as Elvis Andrus attempted to score.

The review mechanism is meant to assist MLB umpires because their job is not an easy one. This time, they followed the procedure exactly, yet they still arrived at a result that almost no one agrees with. It seems remarkable that there are still so many errors in baseball given all the technological breakthroughs the sport has experienced.
The Rangers were still reflecting on the call 24 hours after it occurred and manager Bruce Bochy was dismissed as a result of it.

The three-run shot was Heim’s tenth of the year. When this post was published, he’s 2-3 with two runs scored and three RBI. He’s now hitting .277 and is putting himself in position to be an All-Star next month in Seattle.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Rangers are up 6-1 against the White Sox. They have also scored thanks to a double by Nathaniel Lowe and a home run by Ezequiel Duran in addition to Heim’s home run.

The Rangers will improve to 46-28 on the season if they triumph. They are presently in first place in the American League West and aiming to return to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
Before beginning a significant series with the New York Yankees on Friday at Yankee Stadium, the Rangers have Thursday off.
