Rams Rookie Ronnie Rivers Hits A $514K Jackpot In Vegas

Los Angeles Rams running back won $500,000 playing cards at a Las Vegas casino, Ronnie Rivers nearly doubled his entire NFL rookie salary in one evening!

On Saturday, the 24-year-old struck it lucky at the Mega Progressive Jackpot table at Caesars Palace in Sin City — and by lucky, we mean REALLY lucky.

At the three-card poker table, Rivers made the most unlikely hand possible: a Royal Flush. The probability of receiving an RF is 1 in 649,000.

The moment Rivers and his buddies saw the jackpot symbol at the table rise to over $514,000, they went bonkers, and for good reason.

His companion cried, “Ronnie!” “500,000!”

What makes this reward even better is he won it on a special weekend … his and his mother’s birthday.

Rivers was in Vegas to celebrate his mother’s birthday, and he intends to use his winnings to purchase a home, according to KTNV. The running back’s basic salary will increase to $870,000 in 2023 from last season’s base salary of $705,000.

Rivers joined the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent and recently completed his debut season in the NFL. Rivers joined with the Rams’ practise squad following a brief run with the Seattle Seahawks, and after being elevated numerous times throughout the season, he was added to the active roster in November.

With nine carries for 21 yards and five receptions for 29 yards, Rivers concluded the season as the Rams’ starting running back in Week 8’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
