Ralf Schumacher Updates On The Condition Of His F1 World Champion Brother

Ralf Schumacher, the brother of the Formula 1 hero Michael Schumacher, lamented the “unfair” nature of life while discussing his connection with the star’s immediate family.

Ralf Schumacher Updates On The Condition Of His F1 World Champion Brother

A devastating revelation regarding the whereabouts of his renowned brother Michael has been made by Ralf Schumacher.

In December 2013, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion was placed in a medically induced coma after suffering potentially fatal injuries while skiing.

He had two procedures to remove blood clots even though he awoke from that coma 250 days later. Not much is known about him other than the fact that he still has a long road ahead of him.

His closest family members have not shared any updates on his continued condition.

Because of this, updates have been scarce even after over ten years have gone by. Only Schumacher’s close friends, family, and medical personnel are privy to the specifics of his illness, and he receives treatment at the Lake Geneva home of the family.

Among people trusted with such knowledge will be former Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher. In a recent interview with the German magazine Bunte, he also refrained from disclosing too much when questioned about his brother.

Even though Ralf is his brother, the six-time Formula One race winner has disclosed a harsh reality, which has made it impossible for him to remain in the inner circle.

“Unfortunately, sometimes life isn’t fair,” Ralf told German magazine Bunte.

“When I see his children Gina-Maria and Mick, my heart smiles. If someone in the family is looking for my advice, I’m there. They go their own way.”

After competing in Formula One for two years with Haas, Mick, a reserve driver for Mercedes this year, has said in the past how much he would want to be able to tap into his father’s knowledge and experience about his own racing career.

“I think dad and me, we would understand each other in a different way now,” he said. “Simply because we speak a similar language, the language of motorsport. And that we would have so much more to talk about.

“That’s where my head is most of the time. Thinking that it would be cool that would be. I would give up everything just for that.”

“Of course, we discussed a lot about how this is possible. So we also considered whether a final report about Michael’s health could be the right way to do this,” he said.

“But that wouldn’t have been the end of it and there would have had to be constantly updated ‘water level reports’. Because as those affected, it is not up to you to put an end to the media.

“They could pick up on such a report again and again and ask, ‘And what does it look like now?’ one, two, three months or years after the message.

“And if we then wanted to take action against this reporting, we would have to deal with the argument of voluntary self-disclosure.”

He insists that by handling the matter in this way, the privacy protection of the legendary Formula One driver and his family has been reinforced.
