Raiders’ LB Robert Spillane Announces His Wife’s Pregnancy In A Unique Way
Robert Spillane of the Raiders had a lot to rejoice after his team defeated the Jets 16–12 on “Sunday Night Football.”
After rallying past the Jets in Las Vegas with the game-winning interception, Spillane revealed that he and his wife, Shelby, are expecting their first child together.
“My wife is actually pregnant,” stated Spillane to Melissa Stark of NBC Sports following the game. “So we get to tell the world tonight that my beautiful wife will have our first baby here in June, so I’m looking forward to it.”

As Spillane broke the good news, he was beaming with happiness.
While in the Allegiant Stadium stands, his wife was spotted on the NBC Sports broadcast using her phone to record the huge play.

With the play of the game, Spillane helped the Raiders improve to 5-5 on the season and win their second straight game in the post-Josh McDaniels era.
With less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, he intercepted a pass intended for Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, setting up a potentially game-winning drive.
The Jets’ Hail Mary try as time ran out was incomplete, but the Raiders were unable to run out the clock following Spillane’s interception.

He had surgery on a broken hand last week, and this was his third interception of the season.
“I’m a football player. Football players play football games,” Regarding playing through injuries, Spillane stated. “They play hurt, they play injured.
“I learned that at a very young age. … It’s an honor and a privilege to go out there, so I never want to miss an opportunity to be on the field.”

Spillane announced his and Shelby’s pregnancy at the conclusion of the evening, and the news quickly gained popularity on social media.
According to Spillane’s Instagram, the couple was married in Chicago on June 25.
He shared his thoughts on their marriage in a post the following month, featuring a carousel of pictures from their off-season festivities.
