Raiders’ Jack Jones Ruins The Christmas Spirt By Snatching The Football

One of the NFL’s most intense rivalries is between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders, and on Monday, Jack Jones may have cemented his place in the rivalry’s legendary annals.

He could have gone completely Grinch-like.

Jones raced back the interception for a score after jumping the route on a ball from Patrick Mahomes during the first half of the Kansas City game on Christmas Day. It was Jones’ second consecutive game with a pick-six, and many of the spectators thought Jones had ignored a little fan during the play.

In mid-November, Jack Jones was acquired off waivers by the Raiders. That came after he was benched by the New England Patriots and later dismissed due to legal concerns and other off-field problems.

According to reports, Jones is adapting well to Las Vegas and that his long-standing connection with interim head coach Antonio Pierce has eased the move.

Jones remarked, “I know a lot more people around the building and I know the playbook a lot better.” “I’m a little more comfortable in the system, a lot more comfortable actually. There’s still room for improvement, but I definitely feel better than when I got here.”

And he was feeling really at ease with the Chiefs heading into this game.

“We’re not worried about them,” Jones said Thursday. “It’s Patrick Mahomes we’ve got to  stop. You stop the magician, then the act is over.”

It’s likely that Jones was only trying to teach the child a lesson about rivalry on Christmas Day, even if it looked like some adult supporters were grabbing for the football and may have caused the pull-back. The outcome of the boy obtaining the football was not shown in the broadcast.

Nevertheless, what we did witness was enough to startle NFL fans. Raiders supporters, meanwhile, were delighted with the cornerback’s alleged antics.

How many games has Jack Jones played in?

Jones, who was originally selected by the Patriots in the fourth round (121st overall), has made 17 career appearances, including two starts, and has amassed 42 tackles (33 solo), two interceptions, three tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and seven passes defensed in 17 games.
