The Arizona Cardinals have seen a rough ride lately despite being one of the NFL’s top teams during the 2021 season.
All of that came to an abrupt end the next season, when the team’s record dropped to 4-13. When Kyler Murray suffered a knee injury, things were more difficult.
Jalen Hurts when asked about Kyler Murray
"He's a hell of an athlete. A great leader of men on and off the field. It's really the media who paints him as a villain".
"I model my game off him, what he's doing is special, by far the best QB in the NFC. Arguably a Top 5 QB now". pic.twitter.com/O46UtcDQdg

His ability to return to the field is currently in doubt as Murray is recovering from an ACL rupture. He might not be prepared before the start of the 2023 season.
Even before Murray signed that hefty contract extension, there were a ton of tales, rumors, and storylines about his leadership, or lack thereof, work ethic, and character.

According to ProFootballTalk, the former No. 1 selection wants everyone to know that he is eager to cooperate and play ball under new head coach Jonathan Gannon next season, but he also wants the rest of the team to share responsibility if something goes wrong.
Murray spent the offseason studying to better understand the game before he returned to the field under the leadership of new head coach Jonathan Gannon, who appointed Drew Petzing as his offensive coordinator.

“I’ve got to respect the person or understand the ins and outs or the rhymes and reasons for what we are doing,” Murray said, via Darren Urban of the team’s website. “I’m going to listen. I’m going to be coachable and I’m going to do it to the best of my ability, but if the [expletive] ain’t working, at some point, we all have to look in the mirror.

As far as growing from my rookie year to now, learning how to be one with your emotions, understanding how to talk to people. Some people are able to take the harsh way, and I am naturally that way, or do I need to give them a little love and that’s part of the quarterback position. . . . And what can I do better, how can I be better, how can I make the guys around me better? It’s a team sport. We all have to be locked in.”
There is no doubt that the franchise has to be rebuilt. However, Kyler Murray’s remarks about becoming more coachable are a positive step forward.

Murray does appear to be protecting himself a little bit by mentioning his coachability.
For the Cardinals to return to the top of the NFL, they have a long way to go. However, if Murray is genuinely more coachable, then perhaps everything will work out.
