QB Joe Burrow Lets Cincinnati Know That He Cares Equally For His Teammates Amid Contract Extension Talks
Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, says he is actively participating in the negotiations for a long-term agreement, even if he is keeping some of the specifics of those discussions under wraps.
QB Joe Burrow Sends Message To Bengals Amid Contract Extension Talks
Although the Bengals had previously accepted his fifth-year option, which is also guaranteed for injury for the 2024 NFL season, Burrow is now in the final year of his original rookie deal. After their third year, just before the season began, would often be the ideal moment for quarterbacks to agree to sign contracts.
But on Tuesday, at his first media appearance since the end of the 2022 season, he did explain a few things. The star from Cincinnati is quite clear about what he wants from his upcoming contract, which might make him the highest-paid player in the league.
Joe Burrow recently agreed to pay for 20 local families at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to receive mental health treatment.
Burrow’s father said his foundation couldn’t narrow down a list of families that needed help — so they helped all 20.

Burrow stated that he is keeping teammates who could possibly be offered contract extensions in mind when he negotiates with the Bengals.
“You want that to be a focal point,” Burrow said.
“We’re working to make that happen. You gotta have good players. It doesn’t matter how good your quarterback is. If you don’t have good players around him, you’re not going to be a very good team.”

Burrow made his remarks one day after the Bengals began their second round of team practices. The team’s indoor practice bubble was filled with potential starters, including wide outs Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase.
The Bengals’ three most important players are considered to be Burrow, Higgins, and Chase. Burrow has guided the club to the AFC title game in each of the last two campaigns, and with the assistance of Higgins and Chase, the squad even made it to the Super Bowl in 2021.

Higgins had a huge contribution in the Super Bowl defeat to the Los Angeles Rams, and Chase won the NFL Rookie of the Year award in 2021 for their postseason play.
Higgins stated, “We discuss sticking together for the long haul.” “Hopefully we can do that and negotiate something so they can keep all three of us,” I said.
