QB C.J. Stroud Praising Jesus Gets Cut By NBC

After guiding the Houston Texans to a 45-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, with 274 passing yards and three touchdown passes, quarterback C.J. Stroud was ecstatic.

After leaving the field, Stroud spoke with Kathryn Tappen of NBC. He thanked Jesus before discussing the success of his squad.

“First and foremost, I just want to give all glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” he said before talking about the city of Houston and the support he’s received from Texans fans in less than a year of being their quarterback.

Recognize that Stroud brings up his faith in each and every field interview. For him, it is everything.

Prior to last year’s NFL Draft, Stroud gave Fox News Digital an explanation of why he prioritizes his faith.

“It’s what’s kept me grounded even through my season,” he said in February 2023. “Football has a lot of ups and downs, it has a lot of twists and turns, but at the end of the day, it’s all about your foundation. And something that’s set my foundation is my faith.

“It’s something I’m not perfect in, but I try to work every day to be better, and I definitely think that’s what saved me. If it helps encouraging anybody to help them in their lives, whatever they’re going through, then I’m all for it.”

Over the course of the week, the incident was overshadowed by reports that NBC had cut out a portion of his remarks from the video that was uploaded on X. The video of Stroud talking to Tappen was uploaded by the “Sunday Night Football on NBC” X account, albeit it began with Stroud complimenting the city.

“I mean, it’s been amazing being in this city for a short as I’ve been but the love that I’ve got,” he says in the “Sunday Night Football” clip. “I’ve really just been doing it for Houston, man. People back home, I’m blessed enough to be in this position I am. Blessed enough to be playing at a high level right now. And we gotta just keep it going but I’m super blessed.”

Had Stroud used the opportunity to advocate for transgender rights or Black Lives Matter immediately following the game, NBC most likely would not have altered his post-game interview.

However, Stroud is not a supporter of politics or Marxism. Instead, he is a supporter of Christianity.

Throughout almost every second of his brief career in the spotlight, C.J. Stroud has emphasized to his supporters that he is a Christian, not a black quarterback.

Nevertheless, there is one benefit to a network that seeks to stifle Stroud’s religious expression.

Who did CJ Stroud signed with?

On April 27, 2023, Stroud was chosen by the Houston Texans as the second overall choice in the 2023 NFL Draft. Stroud became the highest-drafted quarterback in Ohio State history by being selected second overall.

Why is Stroud called CJ?

According to Stroud’s statement to the Big Ten Network, his mother gave him the nickname C.J., which he has used ever since “he was born.” Since the J doesn’t appear in Stroud’s complete name, it’s possible that the J refers for junior, but that’s just conjecture.

What is CJ Stroud passer rating?

His 157.2 passer rating was the best by a rookie with at least 20 passing attempts in a game in NFL history.
