Pro Bowl 2023: Snoop Dogg and Pete Davidson Named Captains

After appearing with Dr. Dre at the Super Bowl halftime show the year before, Snoop Dogg will return to the football field this year for the NFL Pro Bowl Games.

The rapper was chosen to serve as a captain for the NFL Pro Bowl Games this year alongside former quarterback Peyton Manning. The retired NFL star and the rapper will represent the AFC, while Pete Davidson—also a captain this year—and Eli Manning, Peyton’s quarterback brother, will represent the NFC.

“I’m comin’ back to the NFL field, but this time, instead of performing, I’m going head-to-head with Pete and competing for the title of The Pro Bowl Games Champion,” Snoop Dogg said, according to People.

He previously took part in the Los Angeles Super Bowl halftime spectacle in 2022. Eminem, 50 Cent, and Dr. Dre all performed throughout the event.

The NFC team will be led by comedian Davidson, 29, of Staten Island, under the direction of Peyton Manning’s younger brother Eli. Additionally, the younger Manning has two Super Bowl victories, both with the New York Giants and both times against the Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

The games, sometimes referred to as the Pro Bowl or National Football League All-Star Game, are an annual NFL event that puts some of its best players against one another in a mix of football and non-football athletic activities.

Kick Tac Toe, the Gridiron Gauntlet, Move the Chain, and the Best Catch presented by Uber Eats will be the four challenges that will be part of the tournament on February 5. During Greatest Catch, participants will showcase their best pigskin reception abilities.

The 2023 Super Bowl will air on February 15th, Sunday. Rihanna is expected to perform during the Apple Music Halftime Show.
