Power Slap League Begins Today: Elaborated Points, Scoring, Rankings & Roster
For TBS and Warner Media, the event must go on despite the controversies surrounding UFC President Dana White and Power Slap League in general.
The Power Slap League will finally make its TV debut on January 18 after a delay. The series follows AEW Dynamite and will take place inside the UFC’s APEX Center in Las Vegas. It is billed as “the biggest slap competition of all time.”
For the show, there will be Power Slap rankings and a cast house (similar to The Ultimate Fighter). A winner will be decided by appointed judges or if the contestant is knocked out after a predetermined number of rounds and is unable to continue.

The judges will employ the well-known 10-point system in MMA and boxing (10-9, 10-8). There will be an acceptable weight disparity, mandatory earplugs and mouthguards, and enforced fouls.

What are the League’s rules?
Two players switch between the roles of “striker” and “defender” during each game. The time allotted for winding up, slapping an opponent, and recovering is 30 seconds.
By tossing a coin or using a seeding system, a striker is selected.
In a slap battle, there are three to five rounds. The referee gives knocked-down competitors a 10-count to get back up and demonstrate their ability to continue. Three to five rounds are allowed.

How does scoring work for the Power Slap League?
The effectiveness of the striker and the defender’s response and recovery time are the deciding factors.
After a round, if neither fighter is knocked out, the judges will award points based on a 10-point scale, as is common in boxing and mixed martial arts (10-9, 10-8).
