Post Resuming Practice 76ers James Harden Was Not Allowed To Board The Team Plane

James Harden, the star guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, has resumed practice after an excused vacation of ten days to attend to a personal problem. When Harden returned to practice, he was told that staying in Philadelphia to work out would be more advantageous for everyone involved than travelling with the Sixers to start the season.

Post-Resuming Practice 76ers James Harden Was Not Allowed To Board The Team Plane

Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report claims that Harden tried to board the team plane on Wednesday but was turned away and told he wasn’t going with the team by a security guard. Harden apparently became irate when he was turned away from the airport, but he didn’t get into a fight.

Harden was then informed by general manager Elton Brand and head coach Nick Nurse that they wanted him to work out alone at the team facilities in order to assess his level of conditioning.

Harden has stated repeatedly that he wants to be traded out of Philadelphia, even though it seems like he is dedicated to playing for the Sixers. Although He signed his player option earlier this summer, there was never any indication that the team would move him.

During the offseason, the former NBA MVP swore never to play for the Sixers again and called club president Daryl Morey a “liar,” perhaps implying that Morey, with whom he had a fantastic connection during their time together in Houston, had promised him either a trade or something else.

Harden pouted for the remainder of the offseason, waiting for a trade to happen, after top executive Daryl Morey declined to offer him an extension. In a now-viral video, Harden accused Morey of lying during a performance in China, threatening to never play for an organization alongside him again.

Harden spent some time at training camp with the club, at least temporarily. Harden did not participate in the preseason and did not scrimmage since October 7.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA is looking into Harden’s absence in relation to the new player involvement rules of the league.
