Pittsburgh Pirates: PNC Park – How to Reach, Where to Park, Eat and Get Tickets
The Pittsburgh Pirates are a Pittsburgh-based American baseball club. The National League (NL) Central division is where the Pirates play in Major League Baseball. Pittsburgh Allegheny was originally established in 1881 as a member of the American Association. The team switched to the National League in 1887, and from 1969 to 1993 it belonged to the National League East. Five World Series wins, nine National League pennants, nine National League East division victories, and three Wild Card Game appearances have all been achieved by the Pirates, who play at PNC Park.
The club has played its home games at PNC Park, a 39,000-seat facility on Pittsburgh’s North Side, since 2001. PNC Park is a baseball stadium on the North Shore of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After the managed collapse of the Pirates’ former stadium, Three Rivers Stadium, it was inaugurated during the 2001 Major League Baseball season.
From a perspective of the Pittsburgh cityscape, PNC Park is situated along the Allegheny River just to the east of its predecessor. PNC Park, which is made of steel and limestone and has a natural grass playing field, can accommodate 38,747 baseball fans.
