Philadelphia Phillies: Citizens Bank Park – How to Reach, Where to Park, Eat and Get Tickets
The Philadelphia Phillies are a Philadelphia-based American baseball club. They play in the National League East division of Major League Baseball. The South Philadelphia Sports Complex’s Citizens Bank Park has served as the team’s home field since 2004. The Philadelphia Phillies are the longest continuously operating same-name, same-city franchise in all of American competitive sports, having been founded in 1883.
The Phillies endured longer than any of the other MLB 16 teams of the first half of the 20th century without winning a World Series before they finally did so in 1980. With 11 division championships under their belts, the Phillies have become one of MLB’s most dominant teams.
Citizens Bank Park is a baseball stadium located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the city’s South Philadelphia Sports Complex. It serves as the Philadelphia Phillies’ home stadium. The stadium was constructed to take the position of Veterans Stadium, a 33-year-old mixed baseball and football stadium that was destroyed in 2004.
The ballpark is located in the northeastern corner of the Sports Complex, which also houses the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, and the neighboring amusement park and food market known as Xfinity Live! The seating capacity is 42,792.
