According to the PGA Tour, “In fact, a key element of LIV’s strategy has been to intentionally persuade tour members to violate their tour agreements and participate in LIV events while attempting to maintain their memberships on tour and compete in prestigious events like The Players Championship and the FedEx Cup Playoffs, so LIV can free ride off the tour and its platform.”
The PGA punished and suspended players who joined the breakaway series after they departed the Tour, prompting LIV to bring its case.
