Manning will begin serving as a professor of practice in the College of Communication and Information in the autumn of 2023, the institution said on Monday. The Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback will participate in a few seminars as a featured expert throughout the academic year and collaborate with the college’s staff to provide CCI students in Tennessee with educational opportunities.
The five-time MVP will be a professor of practice in the College of Communication and Information, according to a statement from Manning’s alma mater, the University of Tennessee. During the autumn semester, Manning will serve as an expert and teach a few classes in person. The courses will cover sports reporting, video production, public speaking, and leadership and communication.

“There is no other ambassador for our college and university like Peyton Manning, and we are proud to welcome him to the college’s faculty,” said Joseph Mazer, dean of the College of Communication and Information.
In his new position as a lecturer, Manning will be a steal because, as Mazer put it, “In true Volunteer spirit, Peyton is teaching gratis.”

Manning led the Volunteers to the SEC title in 1997 after earning a Phi Beta Kappa degree in speech communications from Tennessee. While establishing himself as a mainstay in the media and entertainment industry, he has continued to be a devoted supporter of his alma university.

Manning has stayed involved with Tennessee after earning his degree there. The John Haas Student Experiential Learning Endowment, which bears the name of one of his old instructors who also served as the School of Communication Studies’ director, was created with the aid of a $1 million donation from him.

Additionally, he created the Peyton Manning Scholarship, which has helped more than 50 Tennessee first-year students. Manning is a member of the Board of Visitors at the CCI, which is made up of former students who assist the school in educating new ones.

Additionally, Manning hosted the ESPY Awards in 2017 and NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” in 2007. He founded Omaha Productions in 2020, co-voiced an episode of “The Simpsons” alongside his brothers Cooper and Eli, and has been in a number of television advertisements. His excellent public speaking abilities will make him an excellent educator.
