Patriots Cheerleader At Day And Nurse At Night, Olivia Kerins Carried Both The Roles Perfectly

Olivia Kerins, a rookie cheerleader for the New England Patriots, is eager to bring awareness about skin cancer prevention as well as to make her debut in a regular season game.

This is due to the fact that she was previously a semifinalist for Miss Massachusetts USA in addition to being a cheerleader. She is also that, in fact. However because she is an oncology nurse, she is looking forward to leveraging her platform as a cheerleader to assist in spreading awareness about skin cancer prevention.

With more than 20 members of her family working as nurses, Kerins comes from a family of nurses. A nurse concierge business is owned and run by her parents. In addition to relatives and cousins who also work in the area, her brother and his fiancée are both nurses.

“I am one of over 20 nurses in my family,” she said. “You’re very safe in our house, we like to say. There’s a lot of us.”

In addition to being an NFL cheerleader, a semi-finalist in a beauty pageant, and an oncology nurse, Kerins grew up doing charity work with her mother.

“I don’t want to say it’s coincidental, but growing up, my dad always said that the Kraft family was the gold standard for volunteerism. It just feels right at this point, to be part of the Patriots organization, because that’s always been a motto in our house.”

It turned out to be more tough to become a Patriots cheerleader than to complete nursing school. Coming from a family of nurses, I’m going to think that Kerins didn’t need that many tries to get into the squad on her fourth try.

She graduated, developed her love for oncology, and learned how to prevent skin cancer while she waited to eventually make the team. She also supported the establishment of the family business’ philanthropic and fundraising division.

The Patriots cheerleader was Olivia Kerins’ dream career.

A modification to the audition process might have been what Kerins needed to get past her obstacle. This year, they added the need to produce a paper on philanthropy. She certainly missed the landing even though that was just up her alley.

“For me, this couldn’t have been more perfect. It felt like the stars were aligning. I’m working so hard on skin cancer prevention and did a lot of research to see how I could tie this in with the Patriots,” she said.

“Mr. Kraft and the Patriots Foundation do so much to get involved with cancer prevention and celebrate survivors. For me, it just made so much sense. It felt like the perfect time and it all worked out this year.”

She chose to focus on skin cancer prevention, not because she cheers in skimpy clothing, as you would have assumed. She became involved in it after learning how poorly financed skin cancer research is.

Now, Kerins will be able to use both the cheerleading platform and the one developed by the philanthropy and fundraising division of her family’s business to aid in raising those monies.

There hasn’t been a player with this much talent on the New England Patriots roster in a while.
