Patrick Mahomes On Bengals’ QB: Calls His Record ‘Stone-Cold Killer’

The NFL Network and NFL Films present their list of the top 100 players moving into the new year right before each NFL season. Given that the players in the league voted for it, spectators may get a sense of how dominant some of the finest football players are, as determined by their fellow players. Bengals QB Joe Burrow is praised by many after the list was released. The most highlighted one was the appreciation coming from the Chiefs QB Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes On Bengals’ QB: Calls His Record ‘Stone-Cold Killer’

The best part is that for each name on the list, there is always a useful nugget or two from a rival or exceptional player at the same position. When Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was named the No. 6 player overall in the Top 100, this was unquestionably the case.

In his top 100 release clip, Burrow received accolades from a number of athletes, including opponent and Chiefs defensive end Chris Jones, Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, and Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon.

The explosive quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, is widely regarded as the best in the league. However, a fascinating twist has evolved thanks to Joe Burrow, a budding Bengals star who has a 3-1 record versus his illustrious foe.

Despite their intense rivalry, these gridiron gladiators continuously show each other respect and appreciation. This sentiment was recently expressed by Mahomes via PFF, who said:

“He’s like a stone-cold killer, man. It doesn’t matter who he’s playing, he expects to win. People say that, but until you see people that have that mentality, then you really know,” Mahomes said of Burrow. “He’ll have that team ready to win football games every year. Even though we beat them last time, they’re still 3–1 against us.”

Apart from Mahomes, the Chiefs’ defensive tackle Chris Jones also made some highly appreciative comments about the Bengals quarterback. “You can talk stuff to Joe all day. He’ll laugh it off, give you the smirk, and then dime you up,” said Jones.

The AFC Championship game earlier this year was the last time the Chiefs and Bengals met. Burrow and the Bengals were eliminated from the Super Bowl race by Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who also clinched the victory. Burrow still has a commanding record versus the Chiefs with three victories and one defeat. Week 17 of the 2023 regular season will see them square off once more.
