Patrick Mahomes Claims He Wanted To Play The Bengals In 2022 AFC Championship

In a new Netflix docu-series called “Quarterback” that covers the life of 3 NFL QBs during the season, Patrick Mahomes reveals he wanted to play the Bengals in the 2022 AFC championship game.

After beating the Jaguars in the 2022 NFL divisional round Patrick Mahomes claims, although the Bills would have been an easier for the Chiefs, Mahomes wanted the Bengals because they talk a lot of trash and he was yet to beat them.

Through that point in Mahomes career he was 0-3 against Joe Burrow. Bengals players were going as far as calling Arrowhead stadium, “Burrowhead” as well the Cincinnati mayor trash talking Patrick Mahomes calling Joe Burrow his “Father”.

Ultimately, Mahomes got his wish, yet another duel against their most fierce AFC competitors, the Cincinnati Bengals. Mahomes finally got to prove his point, beating the Bengals 23-20 and improving the Chiefs record to 1-3 in the Burrow era. The Chiefs then went on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a thrilling Super Bowl LVII, 38-35

We already know how ferocious of an athlete and competitor Patrick Mahomes is but this just exemplifies the truth. From being an MLB draftee to the Detroit Tiger, and then being the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Mahomes is one of the great in American sports.

The Docu-series called “Quarterback” covers the life of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Vikings QB Kirk Cousins, and Falcons QB Marcus Mariota. It can be found exclusively on Netflix
