After suffering a contentious loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 13, Mahomes and the Chiefs have had a difficult December.

A late penalty kept Kansas City from scoring the game-winning touchdown, forcing Mahomes to be held from the referees by his teammates.

With a vital Christmas period ahead of them, the defending Super Bowl winners are now 8-5 after the loss.

This Sunday (3–10), they take on the embattled Patriots under legendary coach Bill Belichick.

Belichick, who has been connected to a job with the Los Angeles Chargers, praised Mahomes’ abilities before to the game at Gillette Stadium.

“Offensively, of course, it all starts with [Mahomes],” the Patriots coach stated on Thursday.

“He’s a great player, does everything well, can make all the throws, athletic, got a lot of poise.
