Patrick And Brittany Mahomes Impress KC Current With Lavish New Locker Room, Supporting Women’s Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs are only one aspect of Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes’ impact on the city. The Mahomes are co-founders of the Kansas City Current professional soccer team, and they were involved in the design and funding of the first stadium ever constructed for a women’s sports team worldwide. It also includes a brand-new, cutting-edge locker room, which was initially shown to the current players in a video that Patrick Mahomes posted on social media.

The video was uploaded by the Chiefs quarterback with his 6.8 million Instagram followers in an effort to generate excitement for the Currents’ home debut versus the Portland Thorns, the 2022 NWSL Champions, at the newly constructed CPKC Stadium. This Saturday, March 16, the $117 million stadium opens for business with its inaugural game.

Investments in women’s sports are made by Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.

Chris and Angie Long were joined in 2022 by Patrick and Brittany Mahomes as members of the ownership group. Former professional player Brittany carried her lifelong love of soccer to the boardroom, and NFL star Patrick became the first player currently playing to own stock in an NWSL team.

The team website states that the design prioritizes player wellness in all areas, including diet (high performance chef, locally sourced cuisine) and training (elite weight, cardio, and recovery assets). Furthermore, the design prioritizes the development of the player community and the enhancement of both physical and emotional well-being.
