Pat McAfee Set To Join ESPN In A Multi-Million Deal

According to rumours, The Pat McAfee Show will soon have a new home.

Pat McAfee, a former punter for West Virginia and the Indianapolis Colts, will move his flagship show to ESPN starting in the autumn, according to a report from Andrew Marchand of The New York Post on Tuesday.

Pat McAfee Set To Join ESPN In A Multi-Million Deal

According to Marchand, the transaction, which is apparently valued “more than eight figures,” will free McAfee from his four-year, $120 million contract with FanDuel from which he was previously bound.

The move coincides with Disney’s ongoing cutbacks, which will result in the loss of 7,000 employees overall, including those at ESPN.

According to a person with knowledge of the matter, McAfee, 36, is anticipated to make an appearance at Disney Upfronts on Tuesday afternoon. ESPN chose not to comment.

The program from McAfee “is expected to remain on YouTube in some form, but one or two hours of it could be on ESPN, where the network would be more likely to be able to make the math of McAfee’s deal work,” Marchand wrote.

Although McAfee already appears frequently on “College GameDay” and produces college football alternative broadcasts for ESPN with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, his YouTube program is more raunchy and frequently uses the f-word.

The “The Pat McAfee Show” show, which used to have the FanDuel seal in the top corner, has increased in prominence thanks to its YouTube streaming.

Since McAfee’s retirement from football in 2016, The Pat McAfee Show has been around in some capacity, moving from Barstool Sports to McAfee’s own firm to different syndication partnerships. In December 2021, FanDuel signed a significant sponsorship agreement with the program. A year later, he joined College GameDay on ESPN as a pundit.

After passing up millions of dollars as a Pro Bowl punter for the Colts, he has seen a spectacular climb in the sports media. Beginning with Barstool Sports, he has found a lot of success and jobs in just seven years. Aside from FanDuel, he has also worked with ESPN, Fox, DAZN, SiriusXM, Westwood One, and DAZN.
