Paris Fury Is ‘Shaking’ After Seeing Deep Cut At Her Husband Tyson Fury’s Brow

Tyson Fury’s wife, Paris, was left “shaking” when she saw the deep cut that forced him to postpone his undisputed heavyweight championship match against Oleksandr Usyk.

The huge gash above Fury’s right eye that he sustained during a sparring session for the fight that was initially slated for February 17 in Saudi Arabia was revealed, and Paris Fury made the announcement on her Instagram stories after the news emerged on Friday.

“My full body was shaking with nerves when he showed me the cut, cus I wasn’t there with him [sic],” Paris Fury wrote. “He sounded so pissed off and disappointed but this is boxing (a very dangerous sport) and these things can happen.”

Seven children are shared by Paris and Tyson Fury, who were married in 2008 and first met when they were just 17 years old.

In an Instagram post announcing the postponement of the fight, Fury’s entourage at Queensberry Promotion stated that the wound would require considerable stitching, immediate medical treatment, and time to heal.

According to Sky Sports, the “freak accident” happened during a sparring session with Croatian fighter Agron Smakici.

TalkSPORT released video footage that appeared to show the moment the cut happened, which is thought to have happened during sparring.

Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), the owner of the IBF, WBA, and WBO belts, was intended to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999, however, Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) is the current undefeated WBC heavyweight champion. The fight was scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“I am absolutely devastated after preparing for this fight for so long and being in such superb condition,” In a statement, Fury stated. “I feel bad for everyone involved in this huge event and I will work diligently towards the rescheduled date once the eye has healed. I can only apologize to everyone affected, including my own team, Team Usyk, the undercard fighters, partners and fans, as well as our hosts and my friends in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

The 37-year-old Usyk will have a duty to defend his IBF title as the two parties consider rescheduling the fight. Usyk’s crew wasn’t exactly kind to Fury upon the news of his injury, as promotor Alexander Krassyuk commented on Fury’s Instagram post, calling the cut a sign from God to “think of retirement” in addition to wishing the boxer a “soonest recovery.”

The Daily Mail reports that this exchange did not go over well. Egis Klimas, Usyk’s manager, wasn’t as tactful.
Klimas told Ring Magazine, “Fury is a f–king coward who will do anything not to face Usyk, and he asked his bitch to hit him with a frying pan in his brow.” “You can quote me word for word for that.”
