Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Calls Out Teammates Says, “those guys shouldn’t be playing!”
The Green Bay Packers, led by Aaron Rodgers, have struggled to a 3-4 start and are coming off a Sunday 23-21 setback to the Washington Commanders. During his weekly visit on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers made it apparent that he is not pleased with the team’s current situation. Rodgers openly criticized his teammates for their errors.
Aaron Rodgers Calls Out Teammates
Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the Packers, claims that his teammates are making too many errors and should be benched.
Aaron Rodgers gave that critical evaluation during his weekly interview with Pat McAfee, during which he said that the Packers’ issues went beyond the occasional errant play.

“It’s definitely not just one play here or there,” Rodgers said. “It’s 20 percent of the time. If we have 50 plays and we have 10 missed assignments or mental errors, that’s 20 percent of the time. So that’s way too high. In the past we were looking more like, less than 10 percent, so that gives us a really good chance to be successful. 20 percent, that’s way too high. That’s one play a series where you’re really making it tough on yourself. So we’ve got to fix that. I think guys who are making too many mistakes shouldn’t be playing. Gotta start cutting some reps. And maybe guys who aren’t playing, give them a chance.”
Former Packers WR Greg Jennings on Aaron Rodgers' comments today on McAfee:
"You can't do this … You can't sit down on a show and start talking about who should and shouldn't be playing because of mental errors."

On Sunday, the Packers’ offense hardly really found its footing. Following a score on the second drive, Aaron Rodgers’ offense only managed two first downs in its next five possessions. With 14 offensive points in Week 7, the Packers are averaging 17.0 points per game this season, which is the fewest through the first seven games in Rodgers’ career.

Aaron Rodgers is obviously dissatisfied with the current state of affairs. The defending NFL MVP hasn’t had a great season, and it seems like he’s blaming others for it. He has thrown for 1,597 yards on 66.8% of his attempts, 11 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. His QBR of 40.5 is the lowest of his career, and his passer rating of 94.9 is the lowest it has been since 2015.
Although things aren’t going well in Green Bay, I’m not convinced it’s a good idea for Rodgers to publicly criticize his teammates.
