“One Day at a Time”- Tom Brady Casts a Shadow Over His Future in the NFL After a Devastating Loss to the Dallas Cowboys
In the final game of the NFL wild-card round in the 2022 playoffs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on the Dallas Cowboys. Many believed that it would be Tom Brady and his men who would walk away with the win to take on the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round. However, Dak Prescott and his men had other plans.

When the game got going, Brady and his men did not. Prescott and the Cowboys gained a 24-0 advantage before the Bucs scored a single point of their own. From there on it was smooth sailing for the Cowboys, although the Bucs and Tom Brady did find a few points towards the end, it was too little too late. And with that, the 23rd season in the NFL for Tom Brady came to an abrupt end.
Tom Brady speaks on his future
Naturally, given how the season ended and his age, the questions of retirement were top priority for journalists in the post-game press conference. After the game, the seven-time Super Bowl winner said, “Hopefully, um, you know, I love this organization. It’s a great place to be and thank you to everyone who welcomed me. All you regulars. And just grateful for the respect and hope I gave the same thing back to you guys, so thank you very much.”

When asked if he would retire, Tom Brady said, “It just feels like the end of the season. I’m going to go home and get a good night sleep. Do that as good as I can tonight. This has been a lot of focus on this game so, yeah. One day at a time. Truly.”

With an anemic running game and inconsistent offensive line, the Bucs did the only thing they could this year and that relied on Brady. The Bucs had a non-existent running game this year, they averaged 76.9 rushing yards per game which was the lowest in the league in regular season games.

At this point in time, it is unclear if Brady will continue with the Bucs, find another home or retire altogether. Regardless of what he does next, his status as the greatest quarterback of all time was cemented a long time ago.
