Olu Fashanu’s girlfriend struggles to hug him post-Jets’ 2024 NFL Draft selection

During the offensive tackle Olu Fashanu’s NFL draft festivities on Thursday night, all eyes were on his mother and his presumed girlfriend.

Following the Jets’ selection of the 21-year-old Fashanu with their No. 11 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Paige Fashanu and the mystery blonde, who is rumored to be dating the former Penn State standout, went viral for their comments.

A lot of people said that Paige seemed to be boxing out the blonde when she tried to get closer to her on a couch so they could celebrate with Fashanu.

While hugging the 6-foot-6, 312-pound tackle, Paige sat between her son and the blonde, unintentionally bumping against her.

Paige ultimately wrapped her arm around the blonde in a cute moment, but first, she just seemed extremely happy, and who wouldn’t be?

Additionally, they were spotted holding hands before to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell revealing the selection.

Naturally, though, the internet didn’t hold back.

One customer wrote, “The girlfriend couldn’t get in there for anything.”

Another person said, “His mother was definitely in pass pro against the girlfriend. If he’s half as good as her, we’re set for the next decade.”

The anchors of SportsCenter, Randy Scott and Gary Striewski, concurred and even featured a segment on the occasion on Friday’s broadcast.

Referring to the blonde who was reaching over Paige to get to Fashanu, Striewski remarked, “This is textbook, if you’re reaching, I’m teaching.”

For dramatic effect, they kept pausing the clip as it was playing.

Scott said, “Mom goes in for the hug,” to which Striewski retorted, “She deserves it first.”

At that moment, the video clip featuring Paige raising her right fist in the air was played.

“She’s creating separation,” Striewski remarked. “She’s in pass pro!”

“Her skills are his skills, just reborn into him,” Scott added in response.

“Mom might be a pick in night two or three of the draft,” Striewski continued.

In addition to being the 2023 Big Ten offensive lineman of the year, Fashanu is a two-time All-American.
