Olivia Dunne Is Undecided About Retiring From Gymnastics, When Will She Reveal Her Decision?

Olivia Dunne declared a few months ago that this will be her final year of collegiate athletics. The standout gymnast for the LSU Tigers had made the decision to retire from competition after four years of individual and team victories. But with a few weeks to go, she’s not so sure anymore.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic-related pauses, Dunne was entitled, like all other athletes in her class, to compete in college competitions for a fifth year. The gymnast had been indicating for a few months that this was her final year despite this.

The most blatant example of this was a video she posted in February to her TikTok account with the title,“When the sport I’ve done for the past 18 years will come to an end in less than 2 months.” Her fans were stunned, as was to be anticipated.

Still, there’s hope for Olivia, who might be able to compete in NCAA gymnastics for one more season.

Olivia’s goodbyes might not be final.

Even after the start of the current collegiate gymnastics season, Dunne has provided numerous hints and signals that she is reconsidering her choice.

She and teammate Sierra Ballard were questioned by reporters about their future plans during a recent press appearance. Ballard will not be able to compete in NCAA tournaments as she has already graduated.

By contrast, Dunne’s answer was less definitive, going so far as to retract some of her earlier remarks.“Yeah, I’ve not decided if I’m coming back for a fifth year yet. I could, but I haven’t really thought about it yet,” Olivia Dunne said.

She clarified that she currently has one objective in mind: “I’m so focused on the end of this year and bringing home the national championship.”

On social media, Dunne is the buzz.

The darling of gymnastics enthusiasts is Livvy, as her devotees call her. She has won a well-deserved spot in the public’s preference thanks to her charm, beauty, and extraordinary talent.

Not to be overlooked, she is, behind football star Shedeur Sanders and basketball player Bronny James, the third athlete with the highest NIL in the modern era due to these same qualities.
