Olivia Dunne is ready with her outfits as she awaits Paul Skenes’ MLB debut said ‘I have my outfits picked’

Olivia Dunne, a gymnast at LSU, has high expectations for her boyfriend, MLB pitcher Paul Skenes.

Since last summer, the 21-year-old Dunne has been dating the 2023 Pittsburgh Pirates’ first overall pick.

Skenes and Dunne met while attending LSU.

Dunne played a part in the gymnastics team’s victory over the national champions last weekend, and Skenes was a member of the 2023 College World Series championship squad.

Less than a year ago, the 21-year-old Skenes was selected in the major league draft and has since shown impressive results in the minor leagues.

With his fastball, he has been consistently hitting speeds of above 100 miles per hour.

In 17 innings, Skenes has struck out 34 batters and posted a 0.53 ERA in 2024.

Now just one level away from being in Major League Baseball, the young player is in Triple-A.

In the near future, Dunne expressed her hope that Skenes will receive a call-up to the major leagues.

“I hope soon! I’m starting to get all my merch ready. I have my outfits picked out,” While at Raising Cane’s last week, she stated to TMZ Sports.

“He’s a great guy, and we support each other through everything. He definitely makes me a better person.”

In his total of first starts, the right-hander has only thrown 17 innings.

In contrast to his current average of less than 4.0 innings each start, Skenes averaged more than six innings per start during his time at LSU.

He finished his career at LSU with a 1.69 ERA and 209 strikeouts in 122.2 innings pitched.

With a 14–15 record, the Pirates have made it clear that they do not intend to hurry Skenes to the major league team.

“We don’t want to go from 0 to 100 right away,” MLB.com reports that Ben Cherington, general manager of Pittsburgh, stated as much recently in a radio interview.

“Paul’s so important to us long-term, so we want to be really thoughtful about that.”

Currently, one of the most well-known partnerships in sports is that of Dunne and Skenes.

Furthermore, Skenes has expressed his discontent with being the focus of fan attention.

“It can be a pain in the butt sometimes, to be honest, in terms of actually going somewhere,” To the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Skenes said.

Now that the LSU gymnastics season is over, Dunne may travel to see Skenes play MLB whenever he receives a call-up.
