Olivia Dunne Had Hard Times ‘Finding Balance’ In Her Life Amid Her Success

Olivia Dunne views balance as something that transcends LSU gymnastics.

The 21-year-old millionaire student-athlete, who is in her final year of competition, talked candidly about the challenges she had navigating the Name, image, and likeness (NIL) landscape in collegiate sports.

“The past few years, juggling NIL or ever since my sophomore year, since the summer of 2021, I’ve definitely had a hard time finding balance,” According to Dunne, who spoke with People recently.

“That’s really important because if you don’t have balance, that can affect your mental health.

“I finally feel like I got a grasp on it this year. It’s just compartmentalizing things mentally is very important in my everyday routine.”

She continued by saying that her senior year at LSU, when she was awarded a full athletic scholarship, was when she had the “best grasp on it.”

Her friendship with former LSU pitcher Paul Skenes, the first overall pick in this year’s draft, is now a priority as part of this balance.

“It’s funny because there’s speculations at first about it, but I guess people caught onto us having pictures and videos together out in public, so that’s kind of how the news broke,” she said.

According to On3 Sports, Dunne is valued at an estimated $3.5 million at NIL.
