‘Nunes Threw Everything She Had at Pena’- Michelle Waterson Believes Amanda Nunes Reached Her ‘Breaking Point’ Against Julianna Pena

In an exclusive with Middleeasy.com, Michelle Waterson weighed in on the upcoming women’s title fight that piqued everyone’s interest. Amanda Nunes will rematch Julianna Pena after ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ shocked the world and secured the victory over Nunes via RNC submission.

Michelle Waterson Believes Julianna Pena pushed Amanda Nunes to her breaking point

‘The Karate Hottie’ is of the belief that Julianna Pena’s pace surprised Amanda Nunes to the point where she drastically slowed down. Per Waterson, Nunes’ confidence was majorly impacted when she saw that none of her offensive tactics were paying dividends as the fight went on.

“It will come down to where Amanda is in her headspace. Yeah, Nunes slowed down but in my opinion, I think that Julianna had to get in her face to slow her down.”

“Sometimes people hit a breaking point and I think what happened was Nunes threw everything she had at Pena, and Pena just took it because she’s a dawg. Then, Nunes was like, ‘dang, what else do I have?’ Her confidence and all of that started slowing down.”

However, Michelle Waterson also talked about how it’s hard for her and others to sit at home and break down the fight on an accurate basis. She talked about how the stars must align for a fighter in order to get the victory when it’s all said and done.

“That’s a hard thing for all of us spectators to sit back and judge a fight when we don’t know what happened in the camp, we don’t know what’s happened in their personal life , during fight week, during the cut. There’s so many things to secure a win on any given night, that stars absolutely have to be aligned.”

Julianna Pena will have the entire MMA community’s attention when she aims to defend her title against the formidable Nunes. If she manages to pull off the win, she will have pushed back against her detractors who have labeled her win as a fluke.
