‘Now He Sees What’s Up’- Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera ‘Guarantees’ a Finish In a Potential Rematch Against Former UFC Champion Jose Aldo
UFC bantamweight Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera proved his detractors wrong by pulling out an impressive five-round display against top contender Rob Font. The Ecuadorian fighter was coming in with a major step up in profile, as he had finally secured a headlining position on a Fight Night card.
Moreover, Rob Font had proven himself as one of the best stand-up fighters in the division who had championship-level prowess written all over him. However, Font was battered on the feet and was ultimately unable to find the necessary openings to put away the now top-five bantamweight in Vera.

Marlon Vera wants to run it back with former featherweight champion Jose Aldo
Following arguably the biggest win of his professional career, Marlon Vera is clear that he wants to avenge his loss to Jose Aldo next. Notably, he believes a five-round battle against the former featherweight champion will allow him to truly showcase his championship-caliber skill set.
Both men fought back at UFC Vegas 17 in December 2020, where Aldo was able to put together a strong showing against the Ecuadorian fighter.
“I would love to fight Aldo again, and especially in a five-rounder, just because he declined a five-rounder when we fought last December. I would love to kick his ass, and if we get to match again, I will finish again. I guarantee that.”

“I picked him apart and I hurt him,” Vera said. “I was close to putting him out a couple of times, but you’ve got to be smart in there. Some people get too crazy when they hurt their opponent, and then they gas out. You’ve got to be smart in the long run. … He was talking a little s*** like he was too good, or too technical, so now he sees what’s up.” [h/t mmafighting.com]
Jose Aldo is on a tear in his own right and he is angling for a fight against Aljamain Sterling to capture the undisputed strap. However, ‘Chito’ Vera has been making a lot of noise in the division and it’s become exceedingly hard to avoid his impact.
