“Nothing Personal”- Dana White Responds to Ghosting Allegations Made by Khabib Nurmagomedov as He Makes Title Shot Demands for Islam Makhachev
Charles Oliveira further cemented his place as the best 155-pound fighter in the world with a dominant win over Justin Gaethje. However, because he missed weight, Oliveira was stripped off the title even though he won the fight against ‘The Highlight’. This means that the lightweight belt is currently vacant. Dana White and his team need to figure out who will be given the next title shot.
Khabib Nurmagomedov for a long time now, has been demanding that Islam Makhachev be given the title shot. ‘The Eagle’ made sure to send Dana White a text about his idea as well, but received no reply. In a recent interview he said, “Honestly this is first time since we [last] talk [with] each other he don’t respond. I send a message like, ‘No way some other guy have to fight for the title.’ I said something like similar message but he don’t respond. I think he was busy maybe. This first time. It’s okay, everybody make mistake.”
In a recent interview with Brett Okamoto when asked why he did not respond to Nurmagomedov’s texts, he said, “Oh so what he is saying is I read the message but I did not respond? Well it was nothing personal. I got him and Ali all over me about Islam so. There is no answer, no. I wanted to do that fight with him (Makhachev) and Beneil Dariush.”

Will Dana White give Islam Makhachev a title shot vs Charles Oliveira?
Charles Oliveira is currently on an 11-fight win streak. 10 of those wins have come via stoppage. Makhachev, on the other hand is on a 10-fight win streak. They both are, without a doubt, the best lightweights in the world right now.
If Dana White were to book Makhachev against Dariush, the champion would have to wait it out for the winner, which is not something he is likely to do. Besides, there is no other clear contender for the belt than Islam Makhachev.
