Northwestern quarterback Brendan Sullivan is the happy owner of what may be the season’s worst interception.

Northwestern QB Brendan Sullivan Horrific Interception Against Penn State To Be Investigated?

The Wildcats fell to Penn State 41-13 on Saturday, despite keeping the game close until late in the third quarter.

By the end of the game, Sullivan had replaced starter Ben Bryant, who had suffered an injury.

PSU was favored by 27 points over its Big Ten foe entering the game. Given Northwestern’s problems with a new head coach and Penn State’s 4-0 start, it’s not surprising.

The first half was a fight between the two teams, with a 10-10 draw at halftime. The Nittany Lions would turn on the gas from then on out to outscore the Wildcats 31-3 the rest of the way.

While PSU dominated the second half, a Northwestern cover appeared safe. With less than five minutes remaining, the Wildcats trailed 27-13, two touchdowns short of the final score.

Backup quarterback Brendan Sullivan stepped in for mop-up duty and threw one of the worst interceptions of the season.

Sullivan threw the ball right to PSU DB Daequan Hardy on 1st and 10 with a couple minutes left in the game.

When I say “directly,” I mean it. He couldn’t have positioned the ball in a better spot for Hardy to pick off. Watch the terrible interception below.

Fans immediately reacted to the series of events on social media.

“Show me his FanDuel account.”

“This was fixed.”

“I want this quarterback investigated for gambling immediately.”

Without a doubt, that was one of the worst interceptions in modern college football history. that’s difficult to put into words how horrible that was.

The game was already finished, but it doesn’t justify Sullivan from simply tossing the ball back to the Nittany Lions.

What on earth was he staring at?
