No Evidence Is There To Accuse Josh Giddey Of Following Liv Cook, The Minor Girl’s Video

The player for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Josh Giddey, was falsely accused on social media of seeing a video that had previously been connected to a juvenile, Liv Cook. Prior to it becoming known that a fictitious account purporting to be the collegiate basketball star had looked at the profile of a minor rather than his authentic one, Giddey’s reputation was severely damaged.

The nature of the allegations against the 21-year-old led to separate investigations by the NBA and police after they became involved in a series of reports about an improper interaction with a minor and multiple pieces of information were made public.

Nevertheless, the accusations against Giddey were withdrawn when the investigation concluded that there was insufficient evidence to “corroborate any criminal activity related to Mr. Giddey”. That doesn’t appear to have stopped gossip about Cook and the Australian-born star, though.

‘Mark Jackson’s Burner,’ an NBA page on X, featured a photo of Giddey seemingly watching and re-sharing a TikTok video made by Cook. It should be noted, meanwhile, that this account is a spoof page.

Though it hasn’t been updated since September, Giddey does have an official TikTok account with around a million followers. The incorrect display picture from Giddey’s TikTok account is also present in the photograph shared on X.

Upon closer inspection, it became evident that the profile was fraudulent, and X provided a reader’s context remark beneath the video to clarify this.

How did the Josh Giddey probe end up?

The Newport Beach Police Department opened an inquiry into the case when it was claimed that Giddey and Cook had an encounter in November 2023 in Newport Beach, California.

Renowned attorney Gloria Allred was retained by Cook and her family to represent them, but they ultimately made the decision not to assist the police with their investigation. Due to insufficient evidence, the police were left with no alternative but to close the case and drop all charges against Giddey.
