NFL Trade Rumors: Commanders To Trade For A Naturally Talented Quarterback?
Malik Willis, a quarterback, was selected by the Titans in the third round of the draft last year. Willis might not even make the squad this year. There are chances of trade and rumor has it the commanders might trade for him!
NFL Trade Rumors: Commanders To Trade For A Naturally Talented Quarterback?
Veteran Titans reporter Jim Wyatt says that Willis’s status on the 53-man roster “isn’t guaranteed” in a mailbag article that was posted on the team’s official website.
Washington was listed as one of the five clubs that Willis may play for if things with the Titans don’t work out, according to CBS Sports. The reason for this was offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Willis will reportedly be “fighting for a roster spot” throughout Titans training camp.
Willis has reportedly “outperformed” rookie QB Will Levis in off-season practices, but is still “not guaranteed” a roster spot.

The quarterbacks for the Washington Commanders in the next season will be Sam Howell and Jacoby Brissett.
However, is there a chance that a different player may soon visit the capital city? Malik Willis’ future with the AFC South team, the Tennessee Titans, is said to be at best uncertain.

Eric Bieniemy, the new offensive coordinator in Washington, played a crucial role in Alex Smith’s revival before Patrick Mahomes took over in Kansas City. Those Chiefs schemes cleverly used Smith’s agility as a runner and scrambler.

Additionally, Bieniemy showed off his cunning planning abilities with Mahomes, especially in 2022, when Kansas City’s offense continued to run well despite without Tyreek Hill. I would love to see Bieniemy work with a passer as naturally talented as Willis without anyone being bound into a long-term starting position at quarterback. As Willis grows as a professional passer, the seasoned coordinator may easily use RPOs and a variety of simple, one-read looks for him.

While it wouldn’t be wise for the Titans to trade their quarterback this early, the Commanders may be in business if they snag him. It is a fascinating concept for Willis to move to Washington under Bieniemy as he begins his second NFL season.
Willis may one day get Washington’s attention because of his speed and unrealized throwing talent.
