NFL To Not Change Deshaun Watson Status After Lawsuits!

According to the NFL, Deshaun Watson’s suspension from the Cleveland Browns was unaffected by a fresh civil case brought by a different woman who had previously accused him of sexual misconduct.

In response to allegations of sexual misbehavior while playing for the Houston Texans, Watson is currently serving an 11-game suspension. He has previously been accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by two dozen women while receiving massage therapy.

Another woman filed a lawsuit against Watson on Thursday in Texas, alleging that Watson forced her to engage in sex acts following a massage in 2020. Of the 24 cases that Watson was previously sued in, 23 of them were settled.

According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, Deshaun Watson’s current situation is unaffected by the most recent case. If it is discovered that the 27-year-old has continued to breach the league’s conduct policy, he may be subject to further punishment.

According to McCarthy in an email sent out on Friday, “We will watch developments in the recently filed litigation; and any conduct that justifies further inquiry or possible additional sanctions will be addressed within the Personal Conduct Policy.”

There is no need for the league to take action because the most recent allegations stem from an interaction that happened around the same time as the others and before Watson agreed to a settlement. Watson will be qualified to play again in December as long as he complies with the terms of his contract with the league

Only as he approaches a potential comeback is Deshaun Watson allowed to work out and attend meetings with the Browns. As long as he complies with the terms of his settlement with the league, he can resume practicing completely on November 14 and would be qualified to play on December 4 when the Browns travel to face the Texans.

Deshaun Watson’s Return To The Cleveland Browns Facility

Deshaun Watson consented to the 11-game suspension, a $5 million fine, and independent group therapy and counseling. In March, the Browns acquired Watson in a trade and gave him a five-year, $240 million contract.

He was permitted to return to the facility on August 30, but as his return to the field approaches, he is only permitted to attend meetings and perform independent workouts.

He will be able to practice with his teammates once more on November 14 and will be completely reinstated after his legal issues on November 28.
