NFL Teams With the Most Super Bowl Appearances
The Super Bowl is the coveted championship that all players strive to win. Sometimes a team’s appearances in the Super Bowl are spread out throughout the years, and other times there are dynasties that appear in the Super Bowl for multiple years within a short period of time. Here’s a list of some of the teams with the most Super Bowl appearances:
New England Patriots
Of course, this team is expected to top the list when led by the greatest player of all time, QB Tom Brady, and arguably the greatest coach of all time, Bill Belichick. The team has 11 appearances in the Super Bowl, with 9 of them due to the Brady-Belichick duo and 6 wins, which came only during the time they were on the team. The Brady Patriots dynasty is one of, if not, the greatest dynasties of all time, with an amazing roster of people like Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, who paved the way for those Super Bowl Appearances and wins.

Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers is among the teams with the most Super Bowl appearances, as they have 8 appearances in the Super Bowl. Most of the Steelers’ wins came during their 1970s dynasty, headed by legendary Coach Chuck Noll. The 1970s Steelers dominated in their regular season and postseason games to appear in 4 Super Bowls and win all 4 times. Ben Roethlisberger, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, led the Steelers to 3 appearances in the 2000s and they won 2 of them.
Before their dominance in the 1970s, the Steelers were an NFL laughing stock.

Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys also has 8 appearances in the Super Bowl. Similar to the Steelers, the Cowboys had a dynasty in the 1970s, appearing in the Super Bowl 5 times (some of them against the Steelers) and won 2 of them. The Cowboys also had a dynasty in the 1990s due to the Herschel Walker trade, a.k.a. “The Great Trade Robbery,” where subsequent trade picks received helped get some great players that led the Cowboys to 3 more Super Bowl appearances, with all 3 of them resulting in wins for the franchise.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos are the only other team to tie with the Steelers and Cowboys for 8 Super Bowl appearances. The most recent appearances come from being led by Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, with 2 appearances and 1 win. Before that were consecutive appearances and wins led by Terrell Davis and John Elway. Through the 1970s and 1980s, the Broncos were one of the best teams with 4 appearances, but ultimately never won a single championship during any of those years.
