NFL Rumors: Coach Sean McVay, Could Quit The NFL & Make “A Bajillion Dollars” Through Amazon

Even though Sean McVay is only 36 years old, he has already won a Super Bowl as the head coach of his team, and Amazon has even approached him about a lucrative broadcasting agreement.

The head coach of the Los Angeles Rams has worked with NFL teams since he was 22 years old, and his ascent culminated last year when he earned the sport’s most prestigious award. The Rams hired McVay as their first head coach in 2017, but the hard work from the previous season has fallen apart in front of his eyes this season.

Before the season began, McVay was approached by Amazon and given a sizable offer to join their broadcasting crew, but he chose to stay with the Rams. Executives believe he may soon reverse course, despite the fact that they are 3-8 this season.

According to The Athletic, who spoke to NFL officials and focused some of their conversations on McVay, this is the case. According to the New York Post, Amazon approached McVay following their Super Bowl victory and made him an incredible five-year offer worth $100 million (£83.6 million) to join their Thursday Night Football team.

According to the story, McVay was scheduled to meet with Amazon executives but opted not to because he wanted to support the Rams in their attempt to retain their Super Bowl championship. McVay received only $8.5 million (£7.1 million) year as opposed to the $20 million (£16.75 million) that Amazon offered him, which may suddenly seem more alluring.

One executive believes that McVay might now join Amazon after all because they would pay him outrageous amounts of money after he previously showed interest. “I think he goes to Amazon for a bajillion dollars because they wanted him before,” an exec said to the Athletic. “It will bring something sexy.”

McVay, who is only 36, has a bright future in the industry regardless of the path he choose. However, given that the Rams head coach extended his contract after pledging allegiance to the team, Amazon may have to wait for their guy.

The Rams moved quickly to get their act together and restrain McVay once more as there was interest from Amazon and significant figures floating around. Even McVay can’t perform miracles with Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford currently sidelined, so things may not be going according to plan this season.
