NFL Owners Might Be Colluding Against Lamar Jackson, But Not Because He’s Black: Explained Why

NFL owners have demonstrated time and time again that green is the only color that matters. It doesn’t matter who the quarterback, coach, or general manager is as long as they can win. Lamar Jackson is not a target of racism in the NFL.

NFL Owners Might Be Colluding Against Lamar Jackson, But Not Because He’s Black: Explained Why

Owners are not rewarding him; instead, they are penalizing the Cleveland Browns for giving Deshaun Watson a $230 million fully guaranteed contract.

There are several football-related justifications for saying that Lamar Jackson isn’t worth that much money. Frankly, I wouldn’t want to permanently attach my franchise to Lamar Jackson and spend a sizable amount of my salary budget.

His passing limitations and potential for injury are very genuine issues. You won’t be able to persuade me that 32 teams share your sentiments, though. And it only takes one, as we witnessed with Watson. You cannot expect Lamar Jackson playing 10 years with this running game . Jackson has been sidelined for nine of Baltimore’s past 21 games. He is locker room guy yes but durability matters . Deshaun Watson a $230 million fully guaranteed contract is an outlier contract.

“The Lamar Jackson situation isn’t gonna rise to the legal definition of collusion but there is no question the NFL owners are sending a message about guaranteed contracts”

Robert Griffin III tweeted that the situation “don’t smell right.” Ryan Clark said, sarcastically, “yea right there’s no collusion.”

It’s incredible that six NFL teams—who Lamar Jackson would instantly improve—so swiftly declared themselves uninterested. even if it means giving up two first-round picks.

Mike Florio from ProFootballTalk and NBC, one of the most vocal members of the NFL’s media has immediately came out and claim that the owners are clearly colluding, but as it usually happens, they’re won’t be any proof about it.

But, some of that could be as a result of NFL regulations. Jackson cannot speak with any other NFL clubs until March 13 because he lacks an agent.

Although the league forbids clubs from interacting with him owing to tampering regulations, an agent may speak to them on his behalf. We also know that the league takes those matters seriously.

Teams may easily claim they have no interest in speaking with Jackson after the tampering period begins by telling the media they have no interest. And what good would it do for teams with quarterbacks currently (like Miami) to advertise that they are looking for ANOTHER QB.

But why be so ready to dismiss the idea for groups like the Panthers or Raiders?

Here is when allegations of possible collusion pick up momentum. To be clear, I have no knowledge of any conspiracy between Lamar Jackson and NFL owners. The NFL owners are the only ones who are aware of that.
