NFL Insider: Tom Brady Set To Return To Patriots?

When he leaves the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady might guarantee a stunning return to the New England Patriots the following summer, according to a recent source.

When Brady decided to come out of retirement earlier this year, he signed a one-year deal worth $15 million (£12.4 million), with the full guarantee. Although many think it will be his last season before moving into the Fox Sports commentary box, it’s possible he’ll decide to continue playing.

The Buccaneers would undoubtedly make an offer to retain Brady in Florida for his 24th NFL season if he chose to continue playing, but Brady may have a more sentimental choice as well. The Patriots cannot be counted out as a potential landing point for the, according to The Athletic.

Tom Brady Set To Return To Patriots?

According to multiple stories, Brady initially quit the Patriots as his relationship with head coach Bill Belichick soured. The two sporting legends had become accustomed to triumphing together, but Brady is said to have grumbled to teammates about the head coach’s rigid methods.

They allegedly have somewhat repaired that friendship, though. This season, both have been eager to compliment the other in the media; Brady did so after Belichick became the winningest head coach in NFL history, and Belichick did likewise when Tom Brady passed the milestone of 100,000 passing yards.

After Brady’s tearful return to Foxborough, the two reportedly sat down for 23 minutes in the Tampa Bay dressing room at Gillette Stadium.

According to the article, the Patriots could have to switch offensive coordinators in order for Tom Brady to think about coming back. Matt Patricia, the current offensive coordinator, has had a difficult season and has occasionally come under harsh criticism for his play-calling.

Tom Brady has stayed largely mum regarding his future plans, but he did hint earlier this season that retirement is not in his plans.

He stated: “I want to go out and perform an outstanding job for this squad, just like I always do, because I love the sport and my teammates. So I won’t be retiring any time soon.”
