Taylor Swift’s appearance alone reportedly contributed approximately $700-750 million to the NFL’s earnings during this year’s Super Bowl.

Over 50 in-market activations took place for Super Bowl LVIII throughout the globe, including official NFL watch parties in seven major markets: Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Ghana, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Swift started dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce last season, and the couple’s courtship garnered immediate notice in areas and on platforms where the NFL is rarely discussed. Swift rose to prominence as the largest and most noticeable celebrity fan in the NFL. It was also an economic triumph for the league, since it appears that her fascination with a football player sparked interest in the sport among a large number of her admirers.

Swift did, in fact, attend the Super Bowl. And before and throughout the game, that received a ton of press coverage. We’d heard about her flight from a concert in Japan to Las Vegas. She indicated to us where she was seated. She showed her entourage to us. Of course, we also noticed her attire.
The NFL indicated that the increased foreign viewership had an effect on NFL Shop item sales. Comparing NFL Shop locations in Europe, Canada, and Mexico to Super Bowl LVII, overall sales increased by 39% year over year.

Over 195 nations or territories and more than 25 languages broadcast live coverage of Super Bowl LVIII. Of course, though, none of this fantastic foreign expansion comes close to the attention the NFL receives back home in the United States.
According to a Nielsen and NFL study conducted in the US, Super Bowl LVIII was watched by almost 210 million people.
