NFL Free Agents 2023: Updated List Of Players Position Wise
The NFL offseason for 2023 has begun. Franchise tags may be placed on players this week, and free agency will commence shortly after that. On March 13, the official start day for legal tampering, clubs began speaking with unsigned players; new contracts, including trades, were completed on March 15.
As usual, the quarterback position is anticipated to dominate the field. Unlike to the veteran market of the previous year, which was finished by Ryan Fitzpatrick and Mitchell Trubisky in the top five, the 2023 crop contained a handful of repeat Pro Bowlers.
When does NFL free agency start in 2023?
- Legal tampering period: March 13-15
- Start of 2023 NFL free agency: 4 p.m. ET March 15
On Wednesday, March 15, the NFL’s new league year began at 4 p.m. ET. Free agency will start at the same time as normal.

But, during the two days before to free agency, teams “are authorised to contact, and engage into contract talks with, the certified agents of players who will become unrestricted free agents,” according to the NFL. On Monday, March 13, at 12 ET, the so-called “legal tampering window” will start to operate.
Before the start of free agency, teams must decide whether to deploy their franchise tag. The tag period ran from February 21 until March 7 at 4 p.m. EST. To prevent becoming a free agent, a player must be tagged before that point or accept a contract extension.
Ngakoue is still a free agent. He’s just 1 of 5 players in NFL History to reach 8 sacks in each of his first 7 seasons. I think you could get him at a reasonable price this late into free agency.
